We are so excited to announce that, last month, we finalized the purchase of the land and building we’ve been leasing since 2015!
We want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved: the previous owner and former Teller County commissioner Mr. Norm Steen for his compassionate cooperation in the sale and giving us enough notice to act once he’d decided to sell the property; to the Chapman Foundation and Colorado Springs Health Foundation who both provided massive contributions toward the sale to support our cause; to NextFifty Initiative for covering the legal costs during the sale; and last and far from least our donors, whose generous donations from over the years made up the rest of the funds used in the sale. Without all of you, and everyone involved in these organizations, we’d likely be moving to a new location right now, or worse.
We believe owning our building and land mortgage-free will secure our foreseeable future so we can continue providing our services. It will also soon open us up financially to possibilities for expanding our operation, whether that’s with more staff, expanding our building, expanding our current programs or creating new programs, or whatever it is that is needed down the road. This is an important first step in the next leg of our journey and we are already hard at work on what’s next!
